Being a LEADer

Successful Brother Donald Moore, reflects on the leadership class he took through the Freedom Project this past summer. Freedom Project students spent one week at the University of Mississippi taking elective classes taught by Freedom Project staff.

"At Ole Miss this year we took two classes and one that I took is a class called Life and Leadership. Mr. McCoy and Mr. Perkins taught this class and it teaches you how to be and have leadership qualities. This class will help you in life through some hard times. You can show leadership by leading by example. Instead of saying it you show how to be a good leader.
Another good quality is being a good teammate: working together and helping those who need help. The last quality is that you can be trusted by others and that you can take care of things when you are in charge. You also should be able to help people when they are doing wrong.
One activity we did was this game called Cross Roads. This game is all about teamwork and getting everybody across the roads. In this game we had to communicate with each other. When we started off, we always got stuck and had to start everything over. What we were doing wrong is that we didn't think alike. But at the end we finally came together.
Overall, leadership qualities are good to have and to use in life to help you during the hard times. Try to be the best leader and help out your friends.
